Affordability in tuition fees in further education is the most advantageous side of education system in Uzbekistan. After finishing 11 years of free and compulsory education, youngsters can study in higher education at a reasonable price or they may even win a student grant if they pass the entrance exam very successfully.
However, the downside of Uzbek educational system is that there are many theoretical and lecture-oriented lessons. Teachers do not frequently interact with the students on an individual basis, and students are expected to learn everything based on lectures. There is a larger focus on memorizing rather than nurturing students’ creativity.
