Local Goverments of the USA
Levels of government in the United States.
The policy of the United States is carried out within the framework of a democratic republic represented by a federal presidency. The President of the United States has both a head of state and a government, a bipartisan legislature, and an electoral system.
Executive power is exercised by a government headed by the president and independent of the legislature. Legislative power is in both houses of Congress, the Senate and the House of Representatives. Judicial power is exercised by a judicial department (or judicial system) composed of the U.S. Supreme Court and lower federal courts. The role of the judiciary is to interpret the U.S. Constitution, as well as federal laws and regulations. This includes resolving disputes between the executive and the legislature. The federal government of the United States is established by the United States Constitution. Since American Civil War, American politics has been dominated by two major parties - the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. There were also other small parties that always had little political significance.
Types of U.S. Governments
Federal, state and local governments
The federal structure created by the Constitution is a key feature of the American system of government. However, everyone outside the capital is subject to at least three governing bodies: the federal government, the state, and / or the local government, usually the county [district]. Within the city, they are also subordinate to the local government and possibly the district. Each level has its own political system.
My Flat
.
I live in a 5-story apartment building in Jizzakh. It’s not a very nice place, but we have a courtyard and a Kodak Express studio under the window.
My apartment is on the third floor. It is very convenient and well planned. I have all the modern amenities like central heating system, electricity, cold and hot water, telephone. It has three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a balcony. The biggest room in my apartment is the living room. My family uses it as a living room. It has a sofa, two armchairs, a coffee table, a TV and a VCR.
We have two small rooms in our apartment and one of them is mine. It's not big, but very comfortable. There is a cupboard by the wall and a table by the window. My bed is in the left corner. I really like my room because it is my room.
Our kitchen isn’t that big, but it’s light. It is very well equipped. We have a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker and a toaster. We love to have tea and relax in the evening.
My Capital
I live in Tashkent and it’s my native town. It’s the capital of independent Uzbekistan. Tashkent, which has new avenues, squares and high buildings has become the most modern city in Uzbekistan. City is flourishing as never before.
Tashkent is a beautiful city and it’s great for walking around. There are lots of narrow streets, theatres, museums and squares. There is Independence square, where there are lots of outdoor bars and restaurants. People go there at weekends to sit in the sun, eat ice creams, drink coffee and watch the nature.
Most visitors are attracted by the city’s history and monuments. There are several statues and historical buildings such as Kukaldosh madarasah and the Barakhan mosque which were built in 16-th century. A must for all visitors is the spectacular Amir Temur museum. It gives us lively information about Amir Temur’s life and his kingdom.
Particularly, I think the bests things about Tashkent are the people and its climate. The weather is wonderful. People are very friendly and kind. It’s a working city with a real sense of history. That’s why I love my native town.
