A t that time, I did not pass the test, but my data remained in the acting department and literally after 3-4 months Zebo Navruzova saw the photos, who invited me to audition. Everyone in Karakalpakstan still remembers and remembers my grandfather, People's Artist of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan and Bashkiria Bayram Matchanov. He sang very beautifully, also acted in films. But childhood memories of grandparents' house are associated with music. It was they who instilled love for her.
— And how do you remember Nukus? Did you grow up there?
“This is the place where I got all the best. I really love the city of my childhood, culture, mentality of the Karakalpak people. Undoubtedly, I have all this, which I am very proud of.
— Did the Aral tragedy affect your family? Maybe some bitter memories connected with the consequences of this catastrophe remained in your memory?
- For every inhabitant of Karakalpakstan, the topic of the Aral Sea is the most painful. The Aral catastrophe unfolded even before my birth, but, of course, it radically changed the life of the people of Karakalpakstan. First of all, this is a problem with drinking water, climate change, nature. But the most important thing that has always surprised and delighted me is the spirit of people, resilience in the face of disaster. And the basis of this inner strength is rich traditions, high culture and art.
— You played a role in the documentary "Kirk Kiz" ("Forty Girls") based on the Karakalpak epic. It tells about brave female warriors who came out to defend their native lands. Are these jobs important to you?
- Of course. But I will say that the picture has not yet aired. This is a 15-minute documentary made specifically for Karakalpak television. I hope that with time the Uzbek television will show this film.
I didn’t see the picture either, but the epic is so unique. I'm not afraid to say that there is no such story in the world. Forty girls stoically defended ancient Khorezm from the power of the conqueror Nadirshah. And the enemy was defeated by them. Such women are admirable, and about this story
- Despite the fact that you graduated from one of the most prestigious universities in Uzbekistan, where future diplomats of the country study, you are still not a completely random person in the cinema. Are your grandfather and mother also creative people?- Yes you are right. My mother, grandfather and grandmother are creative people. However, I never dreamed of becoming an actress, never aspired to it. I remember that I was still in my first year at the institute, and my mother suggested that I try my hand at cinema. She is an actress herself, but for the sake of my brothers and me, she once decided to leave the profession and devote her life to children.
And I am very grateful to my mother that she once planted in me the idea that I could act in films. But I shied away from it for a long time. She firmly believed that a good lawyer would come out of me, she ignored my mother's proposals to participate in castings, or at least take the photos to Uzbekfilm, where my parents had friends. She always answered: “This is not mine, and I don’t want to be “poked” into some projects, also through acquaintances!”. I categorically do not accept this.
