1. Переведите предложения, обращая внимание на форму причастий и их место в предложении.

1. Most substations supplying the trains with electricity are now automatically operated. 2. The electronic comput­ers being used are still too (слишком) big and too slow. 3. The railway being electrified will connect two large industrial centres. 4. The locomotives hauling trains,on mountainous railways usually operate on electric energy.

5. The car being designed is intended for carrying coal.

6. Travelling on the Gliding Railway people were surprised by its smoothness. 7. Having demonstrated his locomo­tive the inventor answered a large number of questions. 8. The computer made the plan of the station's work, having processed the data on the freight trains. 9. Proces­sing the data the computer does not make errors (ошибка). 10. Having applied the radio and the telephone for sorting trains the railways improved the turnover (оборот) of railway cars. 11. Being electrified, the railway will have a higher density of traffic. 12. Being provided with cash boxes (касса), the tramcars are operated without the con­ductors. 13. Having been tested, the electrified line was opened for public service. 14. Having been introduced on railways, electric traction provided higher speeds. 15. Being unloaded, some of the equipment was damaged (повреждать). 16. Having been heated, the rails were carefully examined.

2. В данных сложноподчиненных предложениях найдите придаточные предложения, определите их тип и переве­дите предложения на русский язык. При определении типа придаточного предложения обращайте внимание на его место в предложении относительно связки be.

Образец: The general point of view was that atthe elec­tric railways would operate on d. с. Общепри­нятая точка зрения заключалась в том, что

электрические железные дороги будут работать

на постоянном токе (придаточное предложение сказуемое).
