Cities or villages?


According to statistics, people who live villages are healthier than those who live in towns and cities. They eat more fresh vegetables and fruits and they don’t breathe in smog and poisonous fumes. Of course they can’t go to the cinema or museums very often, but they can go to the forests to pick berries and mushrooms. On the other hand, people who live in cities have much better access to things such as computers, libraries and sports facilities, and they usually have more modern conveniences in their houses. Surprisingly, people who live in villages mostly want to move to the city, and those who live in cities want live in village.
Objectives: to practise listening for detailed information Students listen to the tape a second time and say True or False. Are these sentences true (√) or false (x)?

Procedure:

  • Teacher distributes handouts to the students

  • Divide students into four groups.

  • If sentences true (√) or false (x)?

Example: People who live in villages don’t eat fresh fruits. X
