Sailing  stones  are  a  mysterious  occurrence  in  the 

California  desert.  They  are  stones  that  move  without 

humans  or  animals  touching  them.  They  are  a  real 

phenomenon. The stones are found in the desert and 

move every two to three years. Some weigh as much 

as 36 kilograms. The stones leave tracks in the desert. 

Scientists are still trying to figure out how it happens. 

One  theory  is  ice  forms  on  the  ground,  and  winds 

push the stones. The theory is still being tested.
