Ellipsis
  —  omission  of  one  or  both  principal  parts  of  the 
sentence  (subject,  predicate  or  part  of  a  predicate).  It  is 
characteristic of colloquial speech and serves to render a person’s 
idiolect or their attitude to something, etc.  
e.g. Where is he? — Out in the garden.
