- Cussonia zimmermannii, a tree found in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Mozambique and widely distributed in South Africa is used as a remedy for mental disorders;
- The bark of the Prunus Africana tree, in sub-Saharan Africa has been used by local communities for the treatment of a variety of illnesses, including malaria, syphilis, high blood pressure, Asthma, etc.
