Host communities interview questions

1. Would you say tourism along the Via Francigena (VF) has

increased/is increasing? Why? Is it thanks to government,

public or private sector investment?

2. Would you say the VF generates a good form of tourism,

respectful of host communities and the environment?

3. Do you think the local and national government is right in

promoting this form of tourism?

4. Do you think the VF has the potential to stimulate

economic growth in your area? Or do you think it has the

potential to do this in the future?

5. Has any investment in the VF (infrastructure, roads, signs,

walkways, public spaces, public toilets) improved/impacted

your daily life and that of the local community?

6. Have you noticed any particular investment to valorise

local culture and heritage?

7. Has there been community involvement in any stage of the

development process of the VF? Were you consulted and/or

included?

8. Do you think the VF promotes intercultural dialogue and

understanding?

9. Do you think the VF reinforces the idea of a shared
