What can be done to improve the quality o f teaching in schools?

I think that teachers need regular training to ensure a b etter, and m ore 

consistent, quality of teaching in schools. T eacher’s perform ance needs 

to be checked m ore regularly, with lessons being observed and student 

feedback taken into account so that underperform ing teachers can be 

given m ore support.  It is not just about w hat results their pupils get;  a 

good teacher needs to be engaging their students in the subject.
