THE THEME: THE SEQUENCE OF TENSES
Ingliz tilida to’ldiruvchi ergash gapning kesimi bosh gapning kesimiga moslashadi,ya’ni bosh gapning kesimiga bog’liq bo’ladi. Bu bog’liqlik zamonlar moslashuvi deyiladi.
Zamonlar quyidagi hollarda moslashadi:
a) agar bosh gapda hozirgi zamon formalaridan biri ( Present Indefinite or Present Perfect) yoki kelasi zamon shakli ishlatilgan bo’lsa, to’ldiruvchi ergash gapda mazmunga ko’ra istalgan zamon qo’llanishi mumkin: You know what these people think of me (P. Abrahams

Ab- rahams) b)agar bosh gapning kesimi o’tgan zamon shaklida bo’lsa, to’ldiruvchi ergash gapning kesimi o’tgan zamonlarning birida bo’lishi shart. Ergash gapning kesimi Past Indefinite, Past Perfect, Future-in-the Past, Future perfect-in-the Past, Future Continuous-in-the Past shakli qo’llanishi mumkin. Masalan: He wondered whether this meant more trouble (P.Abrahams). Он удивился независимо это означавшее более проблему (P.Abrahams).

c) agar ergash gapning kesimi bosh gapning kesimi ifodalangan ish harakat bilan bir paytda bo’lgan ish harakatni bildirsa, to’ldi- ruvchi ergash gapda perfect bo’lmagan o’tgan zamon shakli ishlatiladi. Masalan: These people thought that by teaching them to read and write he could change their lot.( P.Abrahams) Эти люди думали, что уча им, чтобы читать и писать он мог бы изменить их P.Abrahams)

d) agar ergash gapning kesimi bildirgan ish harakat bosh gapda ifodalangan ish harakatdan avval sodir bo’lgan bo’lsa, ergash gap tarkibidagi kesim o’tgan perfect zamonda bo’ladi.Masalan:
She had put into words what he had felt rather vaguely (P.Abrahams). (Она поместила(устанавливать) в(на) слово(известие) что он почувствовал довольно смутно)

Eslatma:Agar ergash gap kesimi ifodalangan ish harakat ma’lum vaqtda sodir bo’lgan bo’lsa, perfekt bo’lmagan o’tgan zamonda ishlatiladi.
He said he was born in 1950.
e)agar ergash gapda anglatilgan ish harakat bosh gap kesimi ifodalagan ish harakatdan keyin bajarilsa, ergash gapdagi kesim o’tgan kelasi zamon(Future –in-the Past) shaklida ishlatiladi.
I knew where Phuong would keep her box. (G. Greene) Я знал где Phuong должен держать(сохранять;продолжать;проводить) ее ящик(бокс;блок). (G. Greene)

Eslatma: Agar ergash gapda hammaga ma’lum bo’lgan haqiqat ifodalansa, zamonlar moslashuvi bo’lmaydi. Masalan:
He said the earth moves round the sun.
f) agar qo’shma gap tapkibida bir necha ergash gaplar kelsa, ularning hammasida zamonlar moslashuvi qoidasiga amal qilinadi. Masalan:
I said that money was no object and what all I could do to make her happy and comfortable would be done. ( A.C. Doyle) Я сказал, что(, чтобы) деньги не была никаким объектом и что все Я мог бы делать, чтобы делать(заставлять) ее счастливым и комфортабельное быть сделано. ( A.C. Doyle)
g) ega va kesim ergash gapli qo’shma gaplarda ham zamonlar moslashuvi qoidasiga amal qilinadi.
What he had discovered was one thing. ( J.Aldridge). Что он обнаружил, было одной вещью. ( J.Aldridge).

Passive (1) (be done / have been done)
a) Active and passive Study this example:
This house was built in 1895.
This is a passive sentence. Compare:
Somebody built | this house! in 1895. (active)
JThis house] was built in 1895. (passive)
We often prefer the passive when it is not
so important who or what did the action. In
this example, it is not so important who
built the house.
In a passive sentence, if you want to say who did or what caused the
action, use by:
This house was built by my grandfather. (= my grandfather built it)
Have you ever been bitten by a dog? (= Has a dog ever bitten you?)
In passive sentences we use the correct form of be (is / are / was /
