The Procedure of the lesson:

Objectives: to develop critical thinking; to raise awareness of good behaviour; to develop reading skills

STEP 1: Ask the pupils to read the African folk tale entitled “The Flying Lion” one more time. STEP 2: As in previous home reading lessons, prepare beforehand and ask the pupils several questions for understanding such as:

   What could lions do a long time ago?

   What kind of wings did they have?
   
3. 
   What secret did the Flying Lion have?
   
4. 
   Who guarded his house?
   
5. 
   Who broke the bones in the Flying Lion’s house?
   
6. 
   What happened when the bones were broken?
   
7. 
   Where did the Big Bullfrog live?
   
8. 
   What did the White Crows do?
   
9. 
   How did the Flying Lion feel? Could he fl y?
   
10. 
    What happened to the White Crows? etc.
    

STEP 3: Then you may have a class discussion about the story.

Homework

Ask the pupils to get prepared for Progress Check 6.
