Conclusion

All in all, it is obvious from the coursework that the vocabulary of any language is constantly expanding at the expense of new lexical units. Word formation is the main way to replenish it. This process has its own characteristics and types. The basic ways of word formation are individual for each specific language. It depends on the structure, characteristics and compatibility of parts of speech.

In this case, the new lexical units appear after a particular word splits its base value and helps to explain the agent more deeply . For example, indicator – thing that can indicate . Thus, the composition of the vocabulary of the language varies due to the variation of the semantics of the word.

Since the noun agent ( doer of the action ) is actively participates in the sentence , its word formation process is also highly important and worth analyzing. And this formation process includes several means in itself .

Besides we have analyzed a number of ways to form the doer of the action. The categories of noun, verb, adjective, and adverb are open in the sense that new members are constantly being added. The most common types of word formation for formation of the doer of the action ( subject ) are composition (compounding) and suffixation . The minor types of word formation are clipping, blending, back-formation, abbreviation, sound-imitation, sound interchange, distinctive stress.

Through this coursework I realized first of all what is agent ( doer of the action , the person who do the certain action ), and its features , the importance of word formation in the English lexicology and its means in the formation process of the doer of the action . Besides I analyzed the nature of the doer of the action semantically anf identified several means of word formation means ( suffixes like -ee, -ist, -ant/-ent, -(i)an, -ess, -ite, -eer, -ling, -ix, -ster, -ary, -ine, -ie/-y, -ette. )

To sum up, the main way to expand the dictionary is to word formation, which has its own types, as well as features, depending on the part of speech. The process of formation of new lexical units never stops and has its own distinctive features in different languages.
