79. A document may be filed by email in accordance with and subject to the 
provisions of this Practice Direction.

80. The

directly to an associate's email address, or emailed to any other address 
than 
[e-mail]
is taken not to have been 
filed. 
81. The following cannot be presented for filing by email and if received by 
email will be taken not to have been filed:
(a) a document that, with any attachments, is more than 40 pages 
long;
(b) an appeal book;
(c) a document that is required to be sealed by the Court of Appeal;
(d) any document where multiple copies are required to be filed.
82. A document presented for filing by email will not be accepted as filed 
unless it complies with the 
Supreme Court (Court of Appeal) Rules 2005
, 
any relevant provisions of the Rules and this Practice Direction. The 
Court of Appeal Office will advise the sender if the document is not 
accepted for filing for any reason.
83. A person presenting a document for filing by email must:
(a) endorse the first page of the original document with:
(i) a statement that the document is the original of a document 
sent by email; and
(ii) the date and time the document was sent by email.
(b) keep the endorsed original document and the email under cover 
of which it was sent; and
(c) if directed to do so by the Court of Appeal or a registrar, produce 
the items in par (b) to the Court of Appeal.
84. A document presented for filing by email is to be taken to have been 
received at the Court of Appeal Office:
(a) if it is received before 4.00 pm on a working day, on that day; or

(b) otherwise, on the next working day.
85. The date of filing is the date the document is accepted for filing, not 
necessarily the date of receipt by email. Where a document meets the 
requirements of this Practice Direction and has been accepted for filing 
under par 82, the date of filing will be the same as the date the 
document is taken to have been received under par 84.
