As to some researches hypothesize that Protestant culture is positively related to national creativity, based on the Protestant work ethic (Weber, 1930) that values hard work, discipline, and frugality and the finding that a greater number of achievers in science-related fields come from a Protestant background . Hypothesize that Catholic culture may also have a positive relationship with national creativity due to the fact that Catholics have a tradition of encouraging hard work and thrift, which can translate into economic success, and the finding that achievers from Catholic backgrounds have more creativity in the arts than counterparts from Protestant backgrounds. The effect of Orthodoxy on creativity is not hypothesized in this study because the relationship between Orthodoxy and creativity has received little attention in the literature. Because determinism is deeply embedded in Islam culture, the hypothesize said that its relationship with national creativity is negative (Herbig and Dunphy, 1998; Westwood and Low, 2003). Furthermore, traditional interpretations of Islam are incompatible with scientific progress, stifling creativity. The link between Buddhism and creativity is a little more difficult to deduce. On the one hand, Buddhism may "de-emphasize materialism and encourage acceptance and quietude" , implying that Buddhism discourages innovation and change. Buddhism, on the other hand, emphasizes impermanence and encourages followers to practice mindfulness and meditation, which can help with creativity These Buddhist effects could work in the opposite direction, leading us to believe that there is no link between Buddhism culture and national creativity.
However , Islam is a religion that is practiced all over the world. Its adherents make up one of the world's most populous religious communities. They come from every ethnic group and live in every type of environment. The simplicity of the religion's message, as well as its ability to make itself relevant to different times and peoples, has contributed to its historical success as a universal religion. Islam is a "mobile idea" because it can be easily understood anywhere and is adaptable enough to "combine in intriguing ways to produce unexpected new configurations." The concepts of bida (innovation) and ijtihad (justice) are two of the most important aspects of Islam that make it a mobile idea (critical legal thinking in search for answers to new problems). Bida and ijtihad are given great historical mobility in Islam, allowing it to maintain continuity with the past while reviving its vitality as a dynamic faith. The terms bida and ijtihad have different meanings in traditional Islamic thought, and Muslims today aren't always sure what they mean. Bida accusations are frequently made hastily, marginalizing new ideas and making creativity difficult. For some Muslims, the term has become a rhetorical sledgehammer with which they can obliterate others' ideas in order to vindicate their own. Ijtihad is in the same boat as Ijtihad. Some people use it in such a restrictive way that it loses its utility; others use it so freely that it becomes arbitrary and loses any semblance of authenticity. Muslims today require an understanding of the true meanings of bida and ijtihad. Both concepts are crucial to how we see ourselves as Muslims, the practices we tolerate, and the future we envision. The sophistication and functional religious literacy of a Muslim community's members is linked to the community's health. Sherman Jackson emphasizes the importance of promoting the Muslim community's intellectual health by spreading "Islamic literacy" in order to instill critical consciousness among Muslims. This core understanding of the faith is necessary to regain a footing in moderation between secular skepticism and violent extremes by providing everyday Muslims with basic immunity against pseudo-scholarly interpretations of Islam. The rules of ijtihad, which were never restricted to scholars alone and required the lay community to pass judgment on each scholar's aptitude, require Islamic literacy, as will be shown. A solid understanding of bida and ijtihad is a necessary component of our community's Islamic literacy.
