A bit of history

The history of dietary supplements began in the 1920s. The American Carl Rehnborg, who was working in China at the time, found himself in a prison where many prisoners were dying of an unknown disease. Being a resourceful man who understood the importance of nutritional balance, he hypothesized that the meager food they were being fed was woefully deficient in micronutrients, primarily iron, leading to blood problems.
