LINA CHERYAZOVA 
In 1990 Lina became the champion of the country, bronze medal winner of 
the European Championship and raised to 11th position in world rating. In 
1992, for the first time, Lina participated in XVI winter Olympic Games in 
Alberville (France), where Freestyle-skiing was included in the types of 
sports games. 1993 year brought Lina to the victory at the World 
Championship that took place in Austria. However, her biggest victories 
were in 1994, when she won Grand Prix of the World Cup 1993-1994 and 
the gold medal at XVII winter Olympic Games in Lillihammer (Norway). 
The first champion in Freestyle skiing among CIS countries became the 
Uzbek sportswoman.  Lina Cheryazova is the only sportswoman yet,  who 
was awarded international grant of IOC (International Olympic Committee), which is granted to  
the most prominent sportsmen and sportswomen of the world.Lina Cheryazova is the honoured 
master of sport and the pride of Uzbekistan. For her merits in sport, Lina was awarded the order 
―Mehnat Shuhrati‖ and the title ―0‗zbekiston iftixori‖.
