GUIDANCE NOTES
Eligibility Criteria
The YORhub 4 Good Fund has been created to support small scale projects which will benefit local communities within the Yorkshire and Humber area. All applications must be sponsored by a recent User of the YORhub Frameworks. A list of the Users of YORbuild and YORcivil can be found on page 7.
The maximum amount that can be applied for is £10,000 per project. Only 1 application can be made per project; however a user can sponsor multiple projects.
The aim of the funds is to support projects which contribute to one or more of the YORhub key themes, these are:
-
Employment and Skills
-
Sustainability
-
Supply Chain Engagement
-
Economic Regeneration
Further details can be found on the website www.yorhub.com.
If you are a previous recipient of a grant from the 4 Good Fund you are still eligible to submit applications, however these projects will receive a lower priority, ensuring the grant funding is distributed evenly.
Applicants that bid for all or partial Benefit in Kind in question 3d of the application form may have a greater chance of their application being successful. This would involve a donation of labour and/or materials instead of cash.
Applications must be for projects within the area covered by the YORhub Frameworks, these being:
-
North Yorkshire
-
East Riding of Yorkshire
-
South Yorkshire
-
West Yorkshire
-
North Lincolnshire
-
North East Lincolnshire
Insurance and Safety
Should your application be successful, where deemed necessary, you will have to demonstrate that appropriate levels of insurance are held for the project. Any insurance held should include cover for any assets bought or rented as well as any events or activities being held. Obtaining the appropriate insurance is the sole responsibility of the applicant.
In addition, we will request copies of completed risk assessments, to demonstrate that appropriate safety measures have been identified and will be taken.
Completing the Application Form
Please answer all questions in the application form. The answers to these questions will be assessed by the 4 Good Fund Panel to determine which applications will be offered a grant. Where appropriate the maximum mark is displayed next to the question.
Please note that we prefer to receive applications via E-mail, however if you are unable to E-mail, please post to the address listed on the declaration of the application form.
1) Project Details
The project name can be anything the applicant wishes; however it should be relevant to the scheme being undertaken.

The start and end dates are those anticipated by the applicant at the time of the application. Remember that one of the conditions of the funding is that the project is on site within 6 months of the approval of the project and completed within 12 months.

If you are submitting this application by E-mail, an electronic signature will be accepted, should you be successful a hand-written signature may be requested.
Assessment of Applications
All applications submitted to the 4 Good Fund before the deadline will be assessed by the 4 Good Fund Panel. The 4 Good Fund Panel comprises members of the YORhub Framework Management team and Framework Contractors. The 4 Good Fund Panel will assess the information provided in the application, and score each application on its merits. The scores will be used to rank the applications, with the highest scoring applications being awarded funding.
Before your application is assessed by the panel, your organisation, or sponsored organisation, may be subject to a credit check using Creditsafe (or equivalent) where possible and/ or may be required to submit one years accounts. If your organisation fails the credit check or there are concerns with the submitted accounts the application is unlikely to be successful.
Notification
We aim to notify all applicants of our decision within 10 working days of the 4 Good Fund Panel meeting.
If your application has been successful we will detail the support package being offered and any further information required. This typically includes (but is not limited to) copies of Insurance documents and planning permission approval where relevant (see eligibility criteria).
You will also be provided with an acceptance letter. This will include any conditions attached to the funding. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in the funding being withheld or withdrawn. You must complete the declaration and return it to Tina-Louise Phillips within 20 working days, along with any additional documentation requested, to confirm you wish to accept the offer.
If your application is unsuccessful we will provide feedback upon request, detailing the reasons why the 4 Good Fund Panel felt the application was unsuitable and provide advice on how your application can be improved.
You should not let unsuccessful applications deter you from submitting applications to future rounds of the YORhub 4 Good Fund; however if you are unsuccessful it is unlikely that the re-submission of the application will result in a different decision without improvements being made.
Project Evaluation
Once funding has been released the project manager must ensure VAT receipts are kept and submit bi-monthly project updates, detailing how the funding is being spent.
A post project report is required upon completion of your project. If a cash donation has been awarded we will require this before the final instalment is released. It is your organisations responsibility to return the report within 20 working days of completion.
