Lesson 50: Happy Navruz! 

 

The aim of the lesson: 

Educational: - to develop reading for main ideas; to introduce holidays in other countries 

Developing: - to enable pupils to speak about a holiday with the phrase “We celebrate 

...” 

Sociolinguistic  competence:  -to  raise  awareness  of  the  similarities  and  differences 

between celebrations of holidays in different countries 

Linguistic competence: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: - compile a 

flower diagram related to Navruz - say more about holidays: activities, special food, etc.                                                  

Equipments: textbooks, handouts, technical aids, a map of the world, a blackboard and 

a piece of chalk.
