The Current Policies Scenario provides a baseline for how global energy markets would evolve if governments made no changes to their
existing policies and measures. The 450 Scenario assumes that measures are taken to limit the long-term concentration of greenhouse gases
(GHGs) in the atmosphere to 450 part per million of CO
2
equivalent to mitigate climate change (IEA 2011a).
