Long-term, Nondegradable RECPs for 

Channel Lining 

Long-term, nondegradable RECPs, often called  

turf reinforcement mats (TRMs), furnish erosion 

protection and extend the erosion control limits 

of vegetation, soil, rock, or other materials.  

These plastic materials are used for permanent 

and critical hydraulic application where design 

discharges exert shear stresses that exceed the
