GENERAL FLEXO PRINT SPECIFICATIONS FOR
WESTROCK CORRUGATED BOXES
Given the capabilities of our equipment, designing artwork that adheres to these specifications
will result in quicker plant approval and enable us to do a better print job for the customer.
In the machine direction/with the flutes/from top to bottom:
• Space required between graphics of different colors: minimum 1/8” up to 3/16 “
• Distance required between graphics and edges of die cut features: 1/4”
• Colors printed next to each other must be “trapped” 1/8” e.g. one color bleeds over into the other
Across the machine direction/across the flutes/from side to side:
• Space required between graphics of different colors: minimum 1/8 up to 3/16”
• Distance required between graphics and edges of die cut features: 1/8”
• Printing can be done across score lines,
if desired
• Colors printed next to each other must be “trapped” 1/8” e.g. one color bleeds over into the other
Although we have some machines, which have better print capabilities, using these guidelines
will ensure that all machines printing the same graphics across our system will be. This is
especially critical when we are printing multiple outs!
