Activity 4 Play “Two things about me.” 7 min
Objective: to revise Present Simple and answers
STEP 1: Read out two sentences about yourself and ask the class to
guess which one is true and which one is false. å.g. I like dancing. I’m good at
maths.
STEP 2: Ask the pupils to write two sentences about themselves: one true
and one false. Possible structures: I like ... I can ... I’m good at ... My favourite ...
STEP 3: When they finish, ask the pupils to work in groups of 4/5. In turn
one pupil reads his/her sentences, the other groups listen and decide: Yes,
it’s true. Or No, it’s false. The group whose guess is correct wins a point.
NB: If your class is more advanced ask them to write 4 sentences: 2 true
sentences and 2 false.
Homework 3 min
Explain that the pupils should write 4 sentences about their friend. Say
they should use She/He likes ... She/He can ... She/He’s good at ... Her/
His favourite ... Ask not to write the names.

TASK 2
Choose one of the classroom activities from the box. Write about the ways of adapting it for different age learners. Fill the table.

Picture reading is one of the activities that will support the development of early literacy skills. Apart from developing observation skills, visual thinking, confidence to read, analysing skills, picture reading is always a fun activity.

How to involve kids in picture reading?
Pictures may be chosen from story books or magazines or newspapers or random ones from the internet.
Show the picture and ask questions like:
1. What do you see in the picture?
2. What do you think about the picture?
3. If it’s an object, you can ask about what your child thinks about the colour, shape, material, etc.

4. If there is a person in the picture, you can ask,
“What do you think? Is it a
boy/girl/woman/women/man/men/grandfather, etc.
5. Ask about the dress they are wearing.
6. “What are they saying/thinking/doing?”

Answering to the questions can improve the students’ literacy skills, observation skills, visual thinking and analyzing skills, cooperation, speaking and etc.
