INTRODUCTION

My course work about American Litreture during the Civil War.Up to and during the civil war,writers shifted from Romantism and Realism this in responces to the cultural social forces affecting the nation.
Depiction of slavery –slave narratives became popular from [Frederick Dougless].Gone with the wind Margaret Mitchell one of the most famous novels in American history which is essential part of literature.Civil war brings demand for a ‘’truer’’ type of litreture that doesn’t idealize people or places people in society defined by’’Class ‘’ in Materialism .
On this time literature based on Realism reflects reaction against Romantism ;told it like it was.The style focus on lives of ordinary people; rejected heroic and adventurous ;antimaterialism rejected to the new classes system.View of nature as a powerful and indifferent force beyond men’s control.
Realism major writers are;Harriet Becheer Stowe and Frederick Dougless. Becheer Stowee most famous woman of her day , ‘’Uncle Tom’s Cabin is most influential book of the 19^th century and first to sell 1 million copies .One of the most effective documents of propaganda and helped fuel the Civil War .
Frederick Doughless was an escaped like slave and one of the most effective orators of this day .Without doubt, He influential newspaper writer and militiant abolitionist. His autobiography an instant and enduring classic courge .
The Civil War yet serves as one of the milepost in American literary period, usually expressive the significantly line in survey part and reference works on nineteenth-century in American literature. Civil War literature includes nonfictional genres such as diaries, letters,novels and memories. Their main part comprehension within this category is system the perception cemented by such kind of critics such as E. Wilson in Patriotic Gore and Daniel Aaron in The Unwritten War (1973) that the war produced important historical writing part but little fiction of all literary merits. Whereas, this inner aspect is often disputed, history remains a interesting of scholars writing on the literature of the The Civil war.
