I. Read the following case and write a letter to Nodira recommending what she can do to improve the situation. Suggest specific actions she can take. (150-200 words)
Nodira:SOS! I need help! My parents were so happy that I became a student and would learn foreign languages. I was studying happily. I made so many good friends in the University. But I started having problems… Now after four months of my study I am facing with some problems because of my poor results in assessment. I am in trouble!
Recently, I got F (fail) from my written assignment. As it was said originality of the work was very low and I had problem with avoiding plagiarism…
I should admit that it is difficult for me to get up early in the morning. I usually go to bed late at 1 or 2 am as I sit in the chat or meet my friends somewhere in a café or go to a bowling club. So from time to time I miss the classes, especially the first class in the mornings. Sometimes I forget to take my notebook as I don’t want to carry it with me the whole day. So because I don’t take notes during the classes I often forget what I had to do as homework and when I have to submit it. It results in missing the deadlines. Sometimes I do the homework myself usually during the breaks between the classes. Sometimes my friends give me their own work to copy out. I never stay after the classes and laugh at people who go to libraries.
I also have another problem –making effective presentations! Help me please! What can I do?
Dear Nodira
I am writing in reply to your letter asking for advice about your studies at university. I realize how difficult this stage must be for you.
So while I'm helping Nodira's problems, I have a few bit of tips. First, Nodira has to re read the topics of her fallen subjects. He must then perform tasks related to this topic. Second, Nodira finds it hard to wake up in the morning because she talks to her friends until midnight or goes to the club. These things have become Nodira's daily habit. That's why he sometimes had to skip morning classes. In this situation, I advise Nodira to go to bed at 11:00 a.m. and wake up at 6:00 a.m., not to go to the club at midnight, and not to talk to friends. Besides, Nodira doesn't like to carry a notebook. In it he has to carry a small notebook because the notebook does not take up much space. The useful thing is that Nodira can write down the assignments given to her. If Nodira follows these tips, she can make time to go to the library as well. In short, I hope these things help Nodira succeed.
