Decision
He was led to that familiar courtroom. The arms are joined, chained,
and the head is bent. They took him straight and put him on a black
chair. Nurbek's second visit to this cold place, this time it was not clear
why. Finally, the trial began. The noisy hall was instantly quiet. Only the
unpleasant voice of the accuser was heard:
-Comrade judge, if you allow me, I had questions for the accused.
The judge nodded as he said yes.
"Where were you that day?"
"On what day?" Replied the accused, not understanding anything.
-Don't be ignorant. You cann ot escape the law by hiding a thousand.
- What is my fault? "Explain," he muttered.
The accuser laughed:
- First you made a living with your friends, then you drove a car.
"Lie, lie," Nurbek tried to justify himself.
- Is it a lie that you took the lives of two people?
"Yes, that's a lie," he said, and relaxed on his own.
-You can see from your previous convictions that you are a murderer.
Nurbek was stunned by the repeated questions. The hardest part was
being an innocent culprit. The words that were pouring down on him
were clearly a sign of guilt.
-I'm innocent. I didn't kill anyone. Innocent, innocent.
The facts and statements of the lawyer who was trying to acquit Nurbek
were not taken into account by the judge.
Again the floor was given to the accuser.
- Do you admit what you did last time?
- -No. I gave up my old habits because I had promised my mother, ”he
said, looking pleadingly at his mother, who was sitting in the
hall. Mom was crying.
- You deprived a baby of his parents. Will this innocent child pay the
compensation of rebellious teenagers like you? She, too, was yet to
enjoy parental affection.
Nurbek could no longer understand his surroundings, his whole body
was trembling, his heart was pounding with pain. He just whispered, "It
can't be." A woman's sobs mingled from the seats:
-Killer. This person is a killer! He orphaned a young baby. Now the fate
of this baby was to grow up in a foster home like his parents. "Bear"
deprived him of the words "daddy." It's not a life sentence ... 'The
woman fainted before she could finish.
The hall became restless.
The judge left the courtroom for the hearing.
There are tears in Nurbek's eyes. He was in agony. He looked down at
his mother. The mother was still staring blankly at her son, staring at
him with her eyes, sometimes hugging him, sometimes patting him on
the face. The courtroom was filled with the silence of a child.
"Did he leave this monster without his parents ?! Is he so selfish or
greedy ?! Last time the government gave him a chance because of his
youth. Now?" The young man was busy with these thoughts.
The court came to life.
The verdict was read. Judge:
- Now the fate and fate of this child is in the hands of the accused. That
is the ultimate punishment, ”he concluded.
The quiet hall became restless.
The protests escalated.
The child was taken into the arms of sinful Nurbek. In her arms, a small
baby lay still and cried. The young man's hands trembled, and he stared
helplessly, not knowing what to do.
-Take the baby. "No, I can't," he shouted. "Even if you give him a life
sentence, that's not all."
He came to his senses from the car alarm. He looked around. He was
standing on the side of the road. He remembered that some time ago he
wanted to visit his old acquaintances. "Wow! It's just a dream," he said
calmly.
He set the car on fire. At that moment, a young woman knocked on the
door:
-Please, brother, leave it to the city.
Come on out.
The passenger got into the car. Suddenly the child in the woman's arms
cried. Nurbek turned around and the color faded ...
