Everybody needs motivation. Everybody needs to have a reason for action. Taking into consideration that this work is devoted to learning a second (or foreign) language a question arises: what is their Goal of it? Among a great number of suggestions there are some very important ones: o Fulfill school/university requirements o Function and compete effectively in the global economy of today and the future o Increase job opportunities and salary potential o Develop intercultural sensitivity, increasing global understanding L2 can be referred to as a Second and a Foreign language. People living in an English-speaking community/country are learning English as their SECOND language. Those who are not living in an English-speaking community/country, are learning English as a FOREIGN language. Good L2 learners use different strategies while learning a language. They are more willing and accurate guessers; have a strong drive to communicate; take advantage of all practice opportunities; monitor their speech as well as that of others. One of the factors that influence the choice of strategies used among students learning a second/foreign language is Motivation.
