ANNOTATION
Images of an event have a huge implication for the sustainable development of tourism around the world. This can be any kind of event-religious, cultural, or traditional; sports; music; etc., which also plays a vital role in economy development as well.
Event tourism is a form of tourism that has grown at a fast rate in the
last few years. Events are for the short-term occurrence to attract tourists to view or to participate in a particular event and to be entertained. An event has the power to extend the number of tourists and generate additional revenue for the regional population. There are some places are just only visited by tourists because of special events, for example, annual concerts, carnivals, film festivals, or sport events. Every year such events are the main attraction for tourists. In fact, sometimes events are organized for repeat visitors.
Event tourism has had a huge impact on community development in many areas. Event tourism has expanded exponentially. Event tourism creates many jobs that generate millions of dollars in sales or income around the world.
An attempt has been made in this book to discuss aspects from the view-
points of different people, stakeholders, travelers, researchers, academicians, event organizers, and the tourism industry. There is no uncertainty in believing that various events enhance the events industry and tourism value, and that much awareness has been given to the economic field of event tourism.
The editors of this volume felt the need for a book that focuses on diverse events in event tourism in Asian countries, such as events on art, sports, food, culture, etc. The book has grown out of the collective experience of many contributors. It provides a broad coverage of event tourism topics that will give a good understanding to academicians, students, and researchers. It will provide information regarding the issues, challenges, and future of event tourism.
