Warm up: (5 minutes)

Objectives: to get the children ready for the class

Play the DVD and let the pupils listen to the song “School’’ and sing along with the DVD. Ask them what the song about.

Activity 1

Picture-reading (10 minutes )

Objectives:

• 
  to revise school rooms ;
  
• 
  to raise awareness of the pronunciation of “oo”;
  
• 
  to help pupils to learn words by seeing;
  

Step - 1

Stick the cards with pictures depicting parts of the school (school, classroom, library, canteen, gym, playground) on the board. Ask the pupils to guess the meaning of the pictures.

Step – 2

Now show the cards with the words school, classroom, library, canteen, gym, playground to the pupils.Ask the pupils to repeat the words after you in chorus, in pairs and individually.

Step – 3

Write the words on the board . Underline “oo” and read the words with the pupils
