Throughout my two month internship, I had the opportunity to handle new assignments. As the travel agency also deals with the online tourists, I sometimes had to book or cancel rooms for tourists.
They are helping people to book their hotels, flights and other travel arrangements for over a year.
INTERNSHIP TIME
At the beginning of my internship in March, I was introduced to every permanent worker of the company and I have to say that it was difficult to remember each person I met and which department they were working for. My first couple of weeks consisted mainly in taking note and learning how to deal with my daily tasks. At the same time, I became more familiar with everyone in the agency. April was of course very busy months for the agency as it was the high season in Ireland. We had to deal with last minute bookings and the cancellation of a big event, .
What I did during my internship?
Tasks I performed were to send the summary booking confirmation to the hotels and the daily transfer report to our taxi suppliers. To do so, I had to learn how to work with the company software, Tourplan. It was crucial to take notes during the Tourplan training as it was one of my main tools at work. I sent the taxi transfer report every day for the following day in order to advise the drivers on the time of arrival of the clients and about the name of the hotel where they will drive them for the night. Once a week, I had to send the weekly transfer report to give the drivers an overview of future transfers to come.
