Object of the research – teaching listening skill is as a focal point of the research work.
Subject of the research – process of teaching listening for elementary level pupils is as a subject of the research work.
Aim of the research – to study specificity of teaching listening for elementary level pupils and provide the reader with some suggested lesson plans for the current level pupils.
Tasks of the research – in the current research work the following tasks are carried out to reach the main goal:
To identify the notion of listening skill as a type of speech activity;
To highlight main peculiarities of teaching of elementary level learners ;
To supply with directions to methodology of teaching listening skill;
To emphasize some sort of activities in teaching elementary level learners;
To demonstrate lesson plans where were included different types of activities on topic Planets and Universe.
Methods of the research – Descriptive method which gives full description of paragraphs, qualitative research which gathered data about lived experiences, remarks, ideas and point of views and the meanings individuals attach to them in order to gain a better understanding of concept listening and teaching listening, observation methods and secondary data analyses methods.
Theoretical value of the research – the present research work can be used in the Methodology lessons such as Methodology of teaching younger learners or any practical lesson which requires to accomplish tasks using target language. Furthermore, the research work can be as template for further researchers who are investigating in the same sphere.
Practical value of the research – the practical significance of the work lies in the usage of recommended lesson plans and diversity of activities in the classes of elementary level learners and can be an extra material for teachers of practical English lessons.
The novelty of the research –properly-created lesson plans according to the level and different types of activities for teaching listening skill are defined as a novelty of the research work.
