The influence of the calcination temperature on the specific surface, productivity, and 
conversion of the obtained catalysts in the temperature range 450 - 525°C was studied (Table 2).

As can be seen from the data in the table, with an increase in the calcination temperature, 
the specific surface and productivity of the catalyst, as well as the MEA conversion, gradually 
decrease. With an increase in the calcination temperature from 450 to 525

С, the transition of 

-
Аl
2
O
3
to α-Аl
2
O
3
begins and the pore sizes increase, which leads to a decrease in the specific 
surface.
EDA is synthesized in several stages under the following conditions: 
Stage 1. MEA is aminated with liquid ammonia in a stream of hydrogen mainly up to 
EDA; 
Stage 2. Separation of the ammonia-hydrogen mixture. MEA is aminated in a stream of 
hydrogen with EDA, the product of stage 1 amination, the main product of DEET and TETA; 
Stage 3. Separation of hydrogen residual MEA from stage 2 is aminated in a stream of 
hydrogen with diethylenetriamine, the product of amination of the 2nd stage, the main product is 
DETA and TETA. 
Catalyst from stage 3 after separation of hydrogen is subjected to fractional separation in a 
known manner with the release of commercial ETA. TETA, TEPA, piperazine, N-β-
aminoethylpiperazine. 
The optimal parameters of the process have been determined: the influence of temperature, 
the ratio of the initial substances, the height of the catalyst layer, etc.
