CONCLUSION. 
In conclusion, the analysis of the methods for determining the coefficient of 
adhesion between the wheel and the rails, which affects the torsional vibrations in the traction 
transmissions of mainline locomotives, shows that Prof. A. A. The methodology of 
measurements adopted in Rengevich's research is N. N. It has less accuracy than the Menshutin 
method. 
The increase in the coefficient of adhesion in the sliding zone was observed by the candidate 
of technical sciences O. M. It was determined by Janson by testing a model of a mining electric 
locomotive at the Lengrad Mining Institute.
