11.4.1 Ting is trying to write a novel, but her mother is pushing her to get a part-time job.

Mother: Have you thought about what I said yesterday?

Ting: Yes, but I need to concentrate on my novel.

Mother:  So,  you’re  not  going  to  get  a  job?  You’re  going  to  go  on  using

your savings?

Ting:  Yes.  If  I  get  a  part-time  job,  I’ll  be  too  tired  to  write  properly.  This

novel could make me a lot of money!

Mother:  What  if  it  doesn’t  make  you  any  money?  Then  you’ll  have  no

savings!

Ting: Ok, ok. I’ll think about it.
