However, teachers wishing to enter more than ten (10) students may submit entry forms for “additional entrants” who will be subject to a lottery if extra time is available in the competition.

Lottery system:

  • Scheduler will first determine how many slots are open for “additional entrants” based on time remaining after initial assignments

  • Scheduler will compile the list of teachers with “additional entrants.”

  • Scheduler will draw a teacher’s name. The teacher will (later) be allowed to pick which of his/her “additional entrants” will get the slot. Repeat process until all slots are filled.

    • A teacher’s name will not be put back into the lottery until all teachers with additional entrants have been selected. That is, no teacher can have a second “additional entrant” until all teachers have one.

  • After the lottery, the scheduler will contact the teachers to let them know how many “additional entrants” they have in each division. Teachers must pick which students will receive the slots and inform the scheduler within 5 days.
