Course Expectations
Grade 10: 2012 -2013

Purpose:
Students in Health Education will be exposed to a variety of issues concerning everyday life. Many of these issues may not relate to you directly at this time, however someday, someone you know may be dealing with a certain issue and the knowledge you learn from this class may be valuable. This course emphasizes the importance of health promotion, human growth, and disease prevention in relation to becoming a healthy responsible citizen.
Health Expectations:
*Students will arrive to class on time and have their I.D.s on and visible.
*Students will take their backpacks off at the start of class.
*Students will be prepared with a pen or pencil.
*Students will adhere to all school rules. (Ex. Hats, Cell Phones, iPods, Food/Drinks)
*Students will seek the teacher’s help if they have been absent or need to make up work.
*Students will keep food, drinks, and electronic devices put away.
*Always be safe, respectful, and responsible.
Bathroom Expectations
*No bathroom use during A period.
*No bathroom use during H period.
*No bathroom use during the first 10 minutes of class.
*No bathroom use during the last 10 minutes of class.
*Do not interrupt class to use the bathroom.
*Write your own pass before asking to use the bathroom.
Health Assignments
If you are absent for any reason, you must get make-up work on your own from the make-up work tray. If you need extra time to complete assignments due to illness or any other valid reason, ask Mrs. Black. Otherwise, all late work will be penalized 10 points per day. Grades will be updated and posted weekly so you can track your progress. Always remember that your grade is your responsibility.
