Many verbs that can have a passive meaning are also used as adjectives.
The chicken 
was roasted
 for two hours.
(passive verb)
We ate

(adjective)
The fish

(passive verb)

(adjective)
Notice, however, that some of the 
-ed
verbs used in the menu cannot be placed 
in front of the noun as an adjective:
fresh spinach and mushrooms folded in with diced tomatoes
then topped with melted Swiss cheese
served with lettuce, tomato
 
We can also say: 
The mushrooms were folded in carefully by the cook
; 
The soup 
was topped with melted Swiss cheese
; or 
The burger is served with lettuce and 
tomato
. These words cannot be used as adjectives before the nouns.
