Task 3
What do you see in the two pictures?
In the first picture I can see a wonderful beach. The water is
blue. It looks clear and clean. I think it’s a popular beach
because people have walked on the sand. But there are no
people in the picture. It’s a beautiful sight.
The second picture is quite different. It is also showing nature but
this is a field. It looks like a farm or a place where animals live. I
can see a barn on the left side, but I can’t see any animals. I
think a cowboy lives here. There is a hat and a gun in the front of
the picture. I can also see many trees in the background.
Which of these two places do you think children would prefer? Why? (45
seconds)
I think children would prefer the beach because at the beach
there are many activities for children. They can play in the sand
and make sand castles. They can go swimming and they can
play with a ball. I want to go to the beach in the weekend with
my children and we can have a barbecue. Sometimes we go
Half Moon beach by car.
Which of these two places would you prefer to go on holiday? Why?
I would like to go to the beach for a holiday because I can do
many activities on the beach. I can relax and enjoy my free
time. I can read a book, listen to music and lie down in the
shade. I can also make a barbecue with my family and have a
nice time. I think the countryside would be boring. There is
nothing to do in the countryside.

Task 1
What do you like doing in your free time?
There are many things I like doing in my free time. I like cooking
and shopping. I like spending time with my friends and family. I
like cooking for them and trying new recipes. Last week I made
lasagne. It was very delicious.
Please tell me about your best friend
My best friend’s name is ___________. She worked with me at the
Saudi Swiss Dental Clinic. She’s 27 years old. She’s very kind and
nice. She helped me at work. I talk to her every day. We
sometimes go shopping together.
Please tell me about the last thing you saw on television.
The last thing I saw on TV was a film. It was Taken Pt 3. I watched
this movie this morning. I usually watch TV at night. It’s a nice
way to relax after working. I watch TV at home. We have cable
TV. My favourite channel is MBC. I can watch many kinds of TV
shows.

Task 2
Describe this picture.
In this picture I can see a big yellow school bus. There are some
children. They are about to take the bus home. I think they are
going home because they are in a line. There are six students.
They look young, maybe primary school. It’s a sunny day.
How do children go to school in your country?
In my country some children go to school by bus, some children
go by car (with their parents or with a private driver) and some
children walk to school. If the children live near the school they
walk. If the children live far away they go by car or bus.
Is it common to live far from school in your country? Why?
It is not common to live far from school in my country because
there are many schools, so I don’t have to travel far to find a
school. There are private schools and public schools in my
country. The schools are not far from the houses. Also the schools
check where the parents live. The parents should live near the
school.

1-What do you see in the two pictures?
In the first picture I can see many people riding bicycles along a
(city) street. I think it’s a race or competition. There is a man
taking photographs. He’s very close to the riders. He’s wearing a
t-shirt, cap and jeans. In the background I can see many trees.
In the second picture I can see a group of people riding
motorcycles. I think this is also a race. The racers are wearing
sports clothes and a helmet. It looks dangerous. It looks more
dangerous than the first sport. Because they can ride very fast,
so they could have an accident.
2- What kinds of people play these two sports?
For the first sport, I think all kinds of people do this sport. Young
people and old people. It is a sport that is not very dangerous. It
is also not difficult to learn how to do.
For the second sport, I think only young people do this sport.
Young people like dangerous sports. They think it is fun. They
don’t worry about getting an injury. They like the sound of the
motorcycle and the smell of the petrol. They love the speed.

3- Which of these two sports is more difficult to do?
I think the dirt bike riding is more difficult to do because I don’t
know how to ride a motorbike, I think it’s heavy and I think it’s
more dangerous because it’s faster than a regular bike. You can
get terrible injuries from an accident. But cycling is not so difficult
and you can’t go very fast on a bike.
Task 4
Tell me about a time when you visited a very tall building.
How did you feel about it?
Why do you think so many cities have tall buildings?
In 2012 I went to Dubai. I visited the Burj Khalifa. I was very
excited to visit this amazing modern building. I loved seeing
whole city from very high up. The buildings and the people from
the Burj Khalifa looked very tiny. I took some photos with my
family/friends. I took a selfie too and posted it on social media.
I think so many cities have tall buildings because it makes the
city look nice and modern. Cities do not have much space. Tall
buildings give more space. More tourists may visit a city with tall
buildings.
