Cistanche has no root system and does not produce chlorophyll. All nutrients and water for vegetation
are taken from the roots of the host plant (
Anabasis, Kalidium, Haloxylon, Calligonum
,
Salsola
) [7]. The stalk
(stolon) of Cistanche is thick, up to 10 sm. in diameter, covered with oblong-lanceolate scales, placed in the
next order. The plant begins to bloom in spring, around March. Plants grow in the desert, preferring low eleva-
tions of m, a harsh continental climate, a lot of sand and sun. The valuable plant was first noted, around 100
BC. And was used to treat various diseases. Although, herba cistanches has been used, as an elixir for thou-
sands of years, scientific research on Cistanche plants started in the 1980s [1]. Chemical analysis indicated
that various compounds, including essential oils, phenylethanoid glycosides (PhGs), iridoids, lignans, alditols,
oligosaccharides and polysaccharides are the main constitutes of Cistanche plants [3].
In Central Asia, a medicinal decoction is taken for the treatment of syphilis. Cystanche will be useful for in-

reaches of the Amu Darya, 600-610 east, 400-410 north latitude. The territory of Khorezm region is located in
the northern part of the Turan lowland, occupies a part of the left bank of the ancient Amudarya delta and a
small part of the Kyzylkum on the right bank. The Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Bukhara Region bound
on the west, southwest, and on the south it by the Ungiz Back Karakum Desert of Turkmenistan, the Tashauz
Region, and on the northwest and northeast. The climate is sharply continental, the average temperature of
January is moderately cold in winter reaching to 2.2 C., maximum temperature is 2.6 C., absolute minimum
temperature is 5.9 C., relative humidity is 80.0%, and precipitation is 13.7mm. We noted herbal cistanche in
two places in our Khorezm oasis. They were Amudarya biosphere reserve (41°58'43.03"N 60°21'49.15"E.)
and around the main collector heights of Khiva district (41°22'38.02"N, 60°14'33.56"E). It was in 2021, from
the days when the spring April and May (figure 1)
