Julia Horowitz was the daughter of Joseph Horowitz (3.1846-1914) and of Amelia Malka Frank. Joseph Horowitz was the son of Ferenz Nathan Zwi Horowitz (16.12.1818 Abad Szolok, Hungary-1.7.1870) (the brother of Jacob Horowitz) and of Miriam Brunner (8.3.1821-22.11.1899).

Miriam was second-generation cousin of Frederick's father (Solomon).
