Muhammad Anis was born in March 30, 1980 in Pakistan, and he works at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) since 2002. He was started his career at APU as a manager of student services department. By the time he got promoted as Senior Manager, General Manager, Director of International Development Department, and since 2018 he is controlling and directing of International Development Department as a Senior Director. Anis has an experience more than 20 years of educational system. He started interview with below suggestions: If you have a dream of your own that you can't achieve without the help of a lot of people, you'll need leadership skills to get them behind you. Having a mission for your team or organization is the best reason there is for wanting to be a leader.
“A company's success significantly depends upon the leadership abilities of its managers. Those in the top position who want to competently lead employees need leadership qualities. Some of these leadership qualities can be learned, while others are character traits. A requirement for leadership skills is having a natural sense of authority and feeling comfortable in a position of leadership, as only then will your employees trust you and allow you to lead”.
According to Mr. Anis the following describes the five major leadership qualities deemed most important by recruitment consultants and psychologists.
Communication – The ability to communicate an important quality of a leader. This is not surprising since much of a manager's job involves communicating content and strategies internally and externally. However, this flow of information cannot be one-way, as good bosses always listen to the problems of their employees. Successful communication requires a diplomatic approach - this is also an important leadership quality.
Setting a good example – Leaders also serve as role models as bosses are always being watched. Managers who want something from their employees that they won't do themselves quickly lose credibility.
Readiness to take on and give up responsibility – Someone has to make decisions and take responsibility, and that person is usually the boss. However, leadership qualities can also be seen as the ability to refuse responsibility and delegate tasks. Those who shift responsibility to their employees motivate them and ensure their loyalty.
Motivation – Motivating employees, inspiring them, and fostering enthusiasm for projects is one of the most important leadership qualities and a key to success because only motivated employees are good employees.
Recognize and foster potential – Managers with leadership qualities have a good sense of people: they recognize special abilities and know how to use them for the company. Instead of being afraid of potential competitors, such managers encourage talented and motivated employees to turn them into new leaders.
