Rule for Success #4 – Be Mentally, Physically and Emotionally
Prepared Every Day
This is a mentally, physically and emotionally tasking career and you need
to be able to meet the demands of this career. That means keeping your
body, mind and heart in good health at all times. Ensure that you schedule
time for self-care every day. That can be as simple as taking the time to read
for recreation to having elaborate self-care routine carved out in the
evenings.
Not keeping your mind, heart and head in optimum health means that they
are more likely to fail you. Signs that you need to buckle up and care for
yourself more diligently include being constantly tired, being short-
tempered, feeling preoccupied and being easily distracted.
To ensure you perform your best every day, here a few tasks that you need
to perform:
Get the recommended amount of sleep daily. This is
between 7 and 9 hours for an adult.
Practice a balanced diet. The brain and body need
adequate nutrition to work their best. Include fruits,
complex carbs and veggies in this diet and reduce the
consumption of processed foods.
Eat breakfast lunch and dinner every day. Fuel your mind
and body with the main meals. Eating a healthy breakfast
is especially important because it helps set the tone for the
rest of the day.
Exercise regularly. Being inactive increases your risk of
developing chronic diseases like heart disease, certain
cancers and other terrible health consequences. Adding


just a few minutes of exercise to your daily routine not
only reduces those risks but also allows your brain to
function better, which is a huge advantage for an options
day trader.
Drink alcohol in moderation or not at all.
Stop smoking.
Reduce stress contributors in your environment.
