Evaluating Textbook

When teachers open a page in their textbook, they have to decide whether they should use the lesson on that page with their class. If the language, content and sequencing of the textbook are appropriate, the teacher might want to go ahead and use it. If, however, there is something wrong with the textbook, the teacher has to decide what to do next. Therefore, when evaluating the quality of a textbook’s exercises or activities, four key questions should be answered[6]:

Do the exercises and activities in textbook contribute to student’s language acquisition?

Are the exercises balanced in their format, containing both controlled and free practice?



    1. Conclusion

To conclude the first chapter I can say that the teaching FL connecting to MFLT has showed its theoretical tendency which gives more explanation about it. Actually, it is not easy for opening fully approach in FL and its methods with careful surveys. Today is the whole world teaching foreign languages, especially English has become an essential part of education in all its’ branches.

We can find even two main types of English language teaching methodology like teaching English using both modern and traditional methodology. However, it is undeniable that the latter is more popular in society. Because the process includes many changes as a new one. This become clear when we look at the results achieved using these two methods. Because of its results show today modern methodology allows learns to communicate the real language rather than the traditional method. Taking into consideration this factor the government of our country is doing a lot in order to progress foreign language teaching in Uzbekistan using modern methodology.



Giving an example, we have mentioned our both presidents acts to sign decrees and apply new reforms. These all have been found by researchers on teaching in mainstream classes that when teachers structure their lessons effectively, they begin a lesson with a short review of previous, prerequisite learning. Begin a lesson with a short statement of goals. Present new material in small steps, with student practice after each step.Under applying like approaches have provided enough materials and teaching techniques for pupils to change their viewpoint to the lesson. Else, this integrated skills can improve pupils’ ability more than expect.

This chapter has suggested that in order to explain some necessary information which is very helpful for leaners to understand its object as well which teaching techniques more useful and why like these questions will answered in this chapter. Having mentioned four competences which are modern modules for learners give huge experience in learning one language. Taking the material evaluation, why it is important, because we need to assess our results with variety resources such as textbooks, using materials all of them are successful as possible, teachers must help their students feel comfortable with using their new language skills’ measurement, identify and maintain positive learning motivations, and develop realistic beliefs about language learning.
