Museums and galleries

Those who like fine arts enjoy going to art galleries to see exhibition of classical or modern art. In art galleries people admire paintings such as landscapes, portraits, drawings or sculptures of famous painters and sculptors like Picasso, Van Gogh, Claude Monnet, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and others. The most famous galleries in the world are e.g. in France - Louvre, in London - The National Gallery, in New York - Modern Arts Gallery, in Slovakia – the Slovak National Gallery.

In museums we learn about the history of our region or country and look at the exhibits showing us what the lives of our forefathers were like.

FINE ARTS

• If you are a lover of fine arts, you can admire the artworks of famous painters or sculptors (Picasso, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Michelangelo...) in galleries.

CULTURE IN SMALL TOWNS AND VILLAGES

• Cultural events are not so frequent there.
• Houses of culture – main centres of cultural life
• Dance balls (polka, waltz, tango, modern dances)
• Folklore traditions – festivals of folklore music, dance and songs (Východná, Myjava, Detva...)
