Cub World General Information
Cub World is located on the Buck Hill Scout Reservation in Burrillville, Rhode Island, a 1,600 acre Scout Reservation. Cub World and Buck Hill are two of eight camps owned and operated by the Narragansett Council. Cub World is an outstanding, unique campground designed to stimulate the imagination of Cub Scouts to the fullest! The camp is divided into theme areas with buildings designed to match the theme:
-
Pease High Seas Adventure!
-
Bridgeton Castle
-
Wild West Mining Camp
-
Webelos Woods (tent camping)
Each themed area consists of a heated main building and separate non-heated bunk house buildings. There is a fee of $150 (In-Council) and $200 (Out-of-Council) for each theme area.
The main buildings have small kitchens (oven/stove unit, microwave, refrigerator/freezer unit, limited pots & pans). There are toilet and shower facilities and two small sleeping rooms (sleeping for 2-4 per room). The main room off the kitchen has tables and bench seating. The wall heating unit is in the main room.
The bunk houses vary in arrangement due to area theme. The Wild West and Castle have three bunk houses (each sleeps 16), the High Seas have two (each sleeps 24). The bunk houses are not heated. No heating devices are allowed! Each bunk has a mattress pad, bring sleeping bags!
The Webelos Woods area is for tent camping. It does not have the heated building or enclosed bunk houses.
Each area has a rough fire pit for campfires, bring your own wood!
Additionally, the camp has a large Amphitheater with bench seating, two activity fields, a large Mess Hall and access to a pond. There are cleared fire roads perfect for cub hiking. Certain activities are only available to scouts attending council summer programs, including the BB Range, the Archery Range, the Pedal Cart Track, boats at the pond and the Swimming Pool.
