This scheme makes it possible in the event of an accident or pipeline repair to disconnect only one consumer from the system, and not the entire group, while depriving many consumers of heating or hot water.

ITP installation has the following effects:

• 
      the four-pipe system is replaced by a two-pipe system, and it is enough to update the distribution pipelines of the heating circuit with the existing diameter. At the same time, distribution pipelines for supplying and recycling hot water from the central heating system to consumers can be dismantled; heat losses in these areas disappear;
  
• 
      TSCs become transit crane units, or, if necessary, booster pump stations; they can be given for other use, for example, for workshops for repair and sealing windows, for points for the sale and repair of plumbing, for the installation of water meters, etc .;
  
• 
      regulation of the water temperature in the heating system directly in the building, depending on the parameters of the building itself and the outdoor temperature, saves heat (not only during the transition season and in any connection scheme);
  
• 
      heat accounting is carried out directly by each consumer, it is accurate and fair; the calculation does not include heat loss to the point of heat transfer at the input to the heated object; if the consumer fails to pay for heat, it is possible to disconnect its ITP from the district heating network;
  
• 
      installation of throttle washers is not required, each ITP is equipped with automatic temperature controllers that will not allow overheating of the consumer’s building and hot water at any time of the year;
  
• 
      ITPs may be the property of owners of heated facilities; then the ITPs are periodically — one-two times a year — serviced on behalf of the owners by specialized firms, which makes it possible for the heat supply organization to concentrate its financial and organizational forces on heat generation and distribution.
