Motion picture technique
A film in teaching a foreign language is used to teach listening, create dynamic visibility in the process of learning and practice foreign language communication, a situation has been created for such communication in a classroom and the formation of an audiovisual sphere of learning a foreign language. / 8 /
Work with a film includes three stages: pre-demonstration, demonstration and post-demonstration.
Pre-demonstration stage
At this stage, language difficulties in the perception of the text for the film and the difficulties of its content are removed, new words are introduced and consolidated, the functional types of statements used in the text are analyzed, and the understanding of the previously studied lexical and grammatical material is checked. Here, the possible difficulties of understanding are also removed by applying the methods of working out the reading technique and selective listening to individual fragments of the film's sound accompaniment.
Before showing the film, students are offered pre-film guidelines: questions on the content, questions and answers to them for students to choose, tasks related to the subsequent retelling of the content.
Demo stage
The demonstration of the film should be accompanied by an active educational activity of the audience - trainees. They can be offered a program for managing the perception of the film in the form of annotations, a script outline, abstracts, a plan, key words and phrases. Students can also take notes in the supporting notes for the text of the film.
Post-demonstration stage
At this stage, the effectiveness of the use of the guidelines for the perception of the film by the trainees proposed at the pre-demonstration stage is checked, the understanding of the content and the language and speech means used in the film is monitored. Particular attention should be paid to the different types of retelling. It is also advisable to use question-answer work, dramatization, subsequent scoring of the film. / 8 /
Thus, when using an educational movie, it is necessary to take into account all the stages of watching a movie. Television plays a special role in teaching the rules of foreign language speech etiquette of behavior. Therefore, it is necessary to create a film library and a series of video recordings with such samples that could be shown at training sessions on the practice of oral speech. /Appendix 14/
