Introduction

One of the most influential events over the past few decades has been the COVID-19 outbreak, which has had a noticeable influence on various sections of society. In particular, the consequences have been dramatic when it comes to how teaching is delivered and consumed (Singh et al., 2021). Indeed, online learning has emerged as the new reality by replacing conventional learning which creates new business opportunities as well as potential negative consequences for traditional institutions who still rely on brick-and-mortar business model. Based on this, Schleicher (2020) argues that maintaining high educational standards as well as quality assurance in the online education era remains as one of the biggest challenges given the current circumstances. Therefore, considering the fact that online education is gradually taking over conventional methods of learning, preparatory courses for higher education (Inter Nation School, Cambridge Learning Center and so on) in Uzbekistan have been adopting brick-and-click business models by providing a part of their services online. This paper aims to investigate the business opportunities created by the COVID-19 pandemic by analyzing the market for online courses for preparing future university applicants for entrance exams. Accordingly, based on the market research, a business plan for Online Math Courses in English Language for Admission Exam Preparation will be provided.
