Abstract. 
The rise of Industry 4.0, known as digital technology, makes factories smarter and helps increase quality, 
productivity, and efficiency in the manufacturing industry. Additive manufacturing (AM), an essential branch of digital technology, is 
a production tool advancing for the last three decades. Additive manufacturing technology promises to deposit materials for parts with 
complex geometry and manufacture within unlimited geometric freedom. One of the most critical technologies used for additive 
manufacturing process optimization is the Internet of Things. In the study, a theoretical perspective on using IoT for additive 
manufacturing process optimization is presented. In addition to, some suggestions are made using the current situations in the literature 
and the conceptual framework we have propose.
