Computer memory devices

Internal memory properties:

• Discreteness
• Discrete objects are made up of individual particles. For example, sand is discrete because consists of grains of sand. The memory consists of separate cells - bits.
• Addressability
• In the computer's internal memory, all bytes are numbered. Numbering starts at zero. The sequence number of a byte is called its address. Entering information into memory, as well as retrieving it from memory, is carried out by addresses.
• The memory can be thought of as an apartment building, in which each apartment is a byte, and the apartment number is an address. In order for the mail to reach its destination, you must specify the correct address. This is exactly how, by addresses, the computer's processor refers to the internal memory.

RAM	The flash memory is not very large. Volatile memory. Designed for temporary storage of programs and data that may change.
ROM	Energy-independent memory. Designed for long-term storage of programs and data. (read-only) Management of the processor, all computer devices. Testing.
CACHE	Super fast memory. Mediator between processor and RAM.
BIOS	Basic input / output system. A set of programs designed for automatic testing of devices after turning on the power of the computer and loading the OS into RAM
CMOS RAM	It is used to store information about the configuration and composition of computer hardware, as well as its operating modes.
